Thanks to the winemaking culture and the will of the Monti farmers, the area became adorned over the years with many small vineyards. And, twenty-two far-sighted winegrowers in July 1956 to ensure proper processing of the harvests set up the Cantina Sociale del Vermentino whose name pays homage to the noblest of Gallura’s grape varieties.
Today the Cantina consists of 350 members who cultivate the 600 hectares in the territories of Monti, Telti, Olbia and Loiri Porto San Paolo to give selected grapes as the basis of elegant, refined and original wines.
